Our final day at sea and on to Victoria we go. Because we didn’t stop in Ketchikan we could
arrive in Victoria early. The ship had
to get clearance from Canada Customs to change our time of arrival. They were not able to get this clearance
since Victoria already had 2-3 ships due earlier in the afternoon and only so
many customs workers.
We arrived at the scheduled time of 8:30 pm. None of our group had signed up for any
excursions in Victoria since we were arriving after dark and it was a short
port of call. The reason for the stop
was because we were on a foreign registered vessel and by law it can’t leave
the USA and return without stopping at a foreign port.
Sue was still a little under the weather and opted not to
venture out. Allan also took a
pass. It was raining hard and as we
exited the ship and the staff was distributing rain ponchos. We were caught in the rain for all of 3-4
minutes and then it was dry by the time we boarded a double decker bus to drive
us the 10 minutes to downtown Victoria.
Parliament buildings at night.
It didn’t take long and I found Victoria’s Cool
as a Moose.
We strolled around the old tourist section of town. This pub reminded me of my "Mildhog" friends, who were left behind in Maine.
Dave and Rick thought it was a good idea to get a slice of
Victoria Pizza. It didn’t get very good
reviews.
And, I had a Sasquatch sighting in downtown Victoria!!!
As we got back to the harbor I noticed this VIP mailbox.
We will travel overnight to Seattle and be in the port of Seattle ready to
depart by 7:30 am.
