We had a rough and windy night even down in "steerage". As the day progressed we were told that there
were weather and wind parameters for entering the narrows to get to the port of
Ketchikan for such a large ship. Later
we were informed that the wind was too high and it was not safe for them to
approach Ketchikan. Thus, we remained
outside of the Prince of Wales Island Island and the rough weather continued.
In Ketchikan Allan and I had planned to view the totem poles
and go for a trolley tour of the city. The
cost of our planned excursion was quickly refunded to our account.
Without much of a challenge we managed to keep ourselves busy for the
day. At one point we started to exit our
“stateroom” and were met by a parade of miniature tigers.
All six of the Smooth Oboes signed up for Cagney’s a
steakhouse for our final “select” meal.
The restaurant is located high up on the ship at the rear. The wait staff was accomplished at serving
under rolling ocean conditions. It was rough
going. We had another yummy meal that
was enjoyed by all. We followed our meal
up with another trip to the theater.
This time we were entertained by the show “Jersey Boys”, the story of
The Four Seasons and Richie Valle. Their
talent duly impressed us.
