Today is our last day with Dawn and Rick on this trip. Work in Florida is calling them back to the
south. We regret that they will not be
able to join us for the remainder of our trip but they need to put in a few
more years as worker-bees.
We walked a few blocks to the Monorail. This elevated rail line was built for the Seattle World Fair of 1962. It brought us to the Space Needle a renovated relic from the World Fair.
We enjoyed checking out the city from this vantage point and
when we returned to earth I along with some others were brave enough to do a
virtual bungee jump off the Space Needle.
The woman before me was quite taken by the experience and made a lot of sounds to indicate she was quite frightened. I'm not sure if she was a plant. Allan and I found it hokey. But none the less probably the closest I will ever come to bungee jumping.
While in Seattle I had another Sasquatch sighting! This one may have a bad habit. Is he smoking or vaping?
I know a few great nephews in Connecticut who need to make a
trip the Northwest to see if they are as capable of spotting him as I have
been.
After the Space Needle we had some lunch at a food court and
then went to the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP).
I found out very quickly that I’m not into “Pop Culture”. No sci-fi, Prince, Pearl Jam, or Horror Movies for me. So no pictures of that stuff but alas, there
are always Allan’s pictures.
It sure looks like Dorothy's dress really isn’t in Kansas
anymore.
OH NO! The Wicked Witch has been in Seattle!
And a very cowardly lion is there as well.
I found a purple motorcycle in the "Prince" section to take
for a spin.
Following our time in the museum we took a free
shuttle. Our shuttle driver was a poor imitation of an ambassador for the city. He was grumpy and short with unsuspecting visitors to his city.
Dave and Sue got off and took a
spin on the Ferris Wheel while Dawn and Rick visited the Aquarium. Allan and I rode the shuttle a bit further
and spent some time in the National Park Gold Rush Museum. (Guess I was tired. The displays were very informative. Not sure why I didn't take any pictures.)
We all met up for dinner and dined overlooking the harbor at
the Athenian Restaurant which was the location for several scenes in the movie
“Sleepless in Seattle”.
The final day for the entire troupe of Smooth Oboes
concludes. Safe travels to Dawn and
Rick. Say "hi" to Florida for us. We will see you there by October 23rd.
